Philippe Roaché is one of the main protagonists in the American film Godzilla and the TV-series Godzilla: The Series.

AppearanceEdit

Quoted from the Godzilla novelization by Stephen Molstad-

"He was in his fourties, with a salt and pepper grizzle of beard and dark, heavy eyes that made him look droll in a continental sort of way. He was intense and alert. He was clever and unpredictable. And, suspiciously, he was French."

CharacterEdit

A self described patriot, Philippe Roache loves his country and will do whatever he can to protect it, even from it's own mistakes. A member of the DGSE or French secret service, Philippe heads an elite task force in an effort to destroy Godzilla and deflect information connecting the beast to nuclear testing performed by the French government in the Polynesian islands in the early 1960s. In this capacity he poses as an agent of La Rochelle Internationaux Property and Casualty Insurance of Paris, France.

Roache is no fan of American foods, in particular American breakfast, showing disdain for donuts and American coffee. Not even American produced "French Roast" is good enough for his refined palate. He does however seem to enjoy American movies, particularly those of Elvis Presley, whom he acknowledges as "The King."
