Hello. I've been interested in dinosaurs and monsters since I was a kid. I guess I never grew up.
I have a variety of interests, from literature and writing, to music, science, philosophy, religion and spirituality, comics, and yes, kaiju.
Our friends (or enemies?!) Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah, King Kong, Gamera, etc. may be dismissed by most mainstream culture as low-brow low-budget campy fodder, but I believe that aside from some of the lesser qualities of kaiju films, the stories behind them and the monsters can be interesting reflections of culture and history. Do the monsters symbolize archetypes? What does the havoc caused by monsters created by nuclear radiation say about society and technology? About our militarism?
Pertinent questions or am I trying too hard to attach meaning to this stuff?
